We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Froedtert South. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to patients throughout the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities- Perform technical skills under the supervision of Emergency Department physicians and RNs for all patients.
- Assist medical and nursing staff with patient data collections, patient care, and clerical duties.
- Facilitate interdepartmental and inter-hospital patient transfers, as well as patient transfers between EMS providers and the Emergency Department.
- High School diploma or equivalent, plus specialized training (6 months to 2 years).
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
- Competent to obtain and process EKGs per Cardiology protocols within 6 months of hire.
- Current State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) basic licensure, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or Medical Assistant (MA).
