Position Overview:

The incumbent must remain informed about compliance regulations and institutional policies.
Qualifications:
- Entry-level position for recent graduates meeting educational criteria
- Preferred experience in specialty units, particularly with a minimum of one year in medical-surgical nursing
Core Competencies:
- Refer to essential competencies and unit-specific skills
Licensure and Certifications:
- Valid New York State license as a registered professional nurse
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory
- For Maternity specialty: Neonatal Resuscitation Certification is required
- For Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specialty: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is necessary
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may extend beyond the listed functions.
Key duties include: Patient Assessment, Continuous Monitoring, Administration of Medications, Education for Patients and Families, Safe Discharge Planning, Assisting Healthcare Providers, Utilization of Medical Equipment, Clinical Nursing Skills, Emergency Preparedness, Accurate Documentation, Promotion of Nursing Practices, Infection Control, Application of the Nursing Process, Support in Clinical Learning Environments, and Ensuring Continuity of Care.
Additional Responsibilities:
