About the Position

As a Senior Project Manager within Dotdash Meredith's Content Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in managing our lifestyle content across various domains such as home, travel, food, and automotive. Your primary responsibility will be to streamline the production workflow of native content while supervising the operational components of all native initiatives across our extensive portfolio of print and digital media.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in producing high-quality content for brands, whether in publishing, media, or agency settings. Key attributes include creative problem-solving abilities, exceptional project management skills, adaptability to diverse working styles, and outstanding organizational capabilities.

In addition to daily responsibilities such as invoicing, contracting, and database management, you will collaborate closely with a Director-level lead to comprehend budgetary requirements, resource allocation, scheduling considerations, and production logistics. Your goal will be to coordinate the necessary personnel, content, and financial resources to bring projects to fruition. We aim to onboard you swiftly, allowing you to take ownership of smaller projects within a month, thereby enabling you to infuse your unique creative perspective and apply your project management expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management (60%)
  • Resource Management
    • Facilitate creative resource allocation and workload distribution for lifestyle categories.
    • Collaborate with client activation leads to set project timelines and ensure all deliverables are met on schedule.
    • Serve as the central point of information for native projects, organizing essential details, engaging relevant team members and external partners, and effectively communicating project requirements, deadlines, and responsibilities.
    • Lead production efforts for all custom digital and print initiatives, overseeing logistics, budget management, contracting, creative development, and execution.
    • Ensure production processes are efficient, effective, and timely.
  • Vendor Management
    • Identify, negotiate, and contract third-party vendors (freelancers, etc.) for lifestyle native programs.
    • Oversee the onboarding, contracting, and invoicing processes for freelancers and vendors necessary for executing sold programs.
  • Project Tracking & Financial Oversight
    • Maintain a comprehensive tracking dashboard to ensure proper documentation of deliverables, project coding, expense tracking, and assignment management.
    • Manage the budgeting process, estimates, and cost of goods sold (COGS) for native content projects to adhere to financial margins.
Project Scoping & Collaboration (30%)
  • Pre-Sale Strategy
    • Engage in brainstorming sessions to define pre-sale production scopes, including high-level timelines and budgetary needs.
    • Provide budget estimates for native components and compile detailed COGS for proposals.
  • Internal Team Liaison
    • Address inbound requests from internal teams, clarifying the full scope of requests and consolidating information for project leads.
    • Support the creative team in realizing their vision, ensuring they have the necessary resources and collaborating on creative solutions.
  • Support for Category Director
Client Interaction (10%)
  • Effectively interpret and address client feedback in a professional, solutions-oriented manner.
  • Prepare creative deliverables for internal teams and draft client-friendly communication for the client activation team.
  • Participate in client discussions, providing insights on production materials and tactics as needed.
Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, though relevant experience will be considered equally.
Experience
  • 4-6 years in a full-time production or project management role within a publishing, media, or agency environment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Gmail is essential.
  • Experience with Airtable is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous.
  • Experience in print production is a plus.
  • A passion for and knowledge of lifestyle content creation, particularly in travel, is desirable.
  • Ability to work efficiently and intelligently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills are required.
  • A network of reliable industry contacts is beneficial.
Location
  • Ideal candidates should be located in the New York metro area.
  • Occasional travel to satellite offices and production studios may be necessary for production-related tasks.

Compensation
Salary: New York: $85,000 - $100,000.

The pay range above reflects the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position and may vary based on factors such as work location, experience, and performance. This range is part of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package, which may include bonuses and various benefits.
