About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to join our team at Pediatrix Medical Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality hearing screens to newborns in hospital settings.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct newborn hearing screens in a hospital setting, utilizing our state-of-the-art equipment and protocols.
  • Verify insurance information with parents/guardians and ensure accurate documentation of hearing screen results.
  • Enter patient data and validate hearing screens, as needed, to ensure timely submission of billing and accurate record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to confirm or reschedule outpatient appointments, address equipment issues, and provide training to new staff members.
  • Adhere to hospital, company, and program policies related to security, identification, infection control, safety awareness, and patient privacy.
  • Recognize potential problems and seek assistance when necessary to ensure timely and effective resolution.
Requirements
  • Experience working with infants and in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments, work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays, with the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
