Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team at Allina Health. As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will provide general pediatric care to hospitalized pediatric patients and perform procedures in the inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care for pediatric patients in a hospital setting, including providing coverage in the normal newborn nursery and performing circumcisions.
  • Provide family-centered care in a community hospital setting, prioritizing the needs of patients and their families.
  • Review patient medical history, collect and synthesize comprehensive data, and make decisions regarding patient care.
  • Evaluate and interpret patient information, providing education and consultation to patients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being, practicing in a thoughtful manner that considers cultural diversity, individual autonomy, and legal responsibilities.
  • Provide pediatric consultation for ED and surgical patients, charting in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary approach to case management, may participate in on-call rotation, and may perform procedures such as line placements, ventilator management, and endotracheal intubation.

Requirements:

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
  • Accredited Residency training program in Pediatrics required.
  • BC/BE for Pediatrics (ABP) required.
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain) required.
  • NRP and PALS certification required.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI) required.
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges required.
