Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with patient care, including vital sign collection, medical history documentation, and administrative tasks.
  • Conduct patient triage, appointment scheduling, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Interact with patients daily, assisting with examinations, treatments, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Perform essential functions, including:
    • Following patient intake/rooming procedures.
    • Recording patient vital signs and medical statistics.
    • Assisting with medication history and updating medication lists.
    • Utilizing standard precautions and complying with regulatory agency standards.
    • Taking vitals and documenting medical history using E.M.R. technology.
    • Assisting with patient inquiries, prescription refills, and appointment scheduling.
    • Monitoring inventory and stocking medical supplies and emergency medications.
    • Tracking and logging laboratory and diagnostic tests, and presenting results to providers.
    • Measuring, fitting, and dispensing Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
    • Performing X-rays using digital or traditional machines.
    • Handling X-ray chemicals and autoclaving sterilization of surgical equipment.
    • Setting up procedures and preparing rooms for patient care.
    • Communicating with doctors and front office staff for efficient care.
    • Assisting with wound care and post-op care.
Requirements
  • Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.
  • Manual finger dexterity.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Recognized/certified as a CMA, MOA, or RMA preferred.
  • Must have thorough understanding of HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
