Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support cost management initiatives aligned with established cost control frameworks.
  • Provide timely alerts regarding potential cost variances to facilitate prompt corrective measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive cost control documentation, including commitments, Value of Work Done (VOWD), accruals, forecasts, budgets, and contingency strategies.
  • Utilize RADA dashboard for effective monitoring of cost metrics, performance indicators, status updates, and variance assessments.
  • Contribute actively to the budgeting process.
  • Assist in ensuring that cost control practices are in harmony with project scope and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
  • Develop and implement CBS for projects at various stages, in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Provide essential cost data to support Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) submissions and revisions while preserving historical records.
  • Engage in regular discussions with team leaders and engineers to improve forecasting precision.
  • Evaluate contractor performance, productivity, and claims.
  • Implement cost control procedures with expertise to deliver insightful business intelligence for financial reporting.
  • Participate in cost and schedule assurance evaluations.
  • Analyze and utilize relevant benchmark data during cost control preparations.
  • Actively participate in cost control training and professional development.
  • Oversee the change control process.
  • Prepare and maintain cost reports, and track cost trends for monthly updates.
Essential Skills and Knowledge

Qualifications/Experience:
  • 10-15 years of experience in cost management, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and numerical capabilities.
  • Site-based experience is advantageous.
  • Understanding of cost control and management principles.
  • Proficiency in project management software and financial analysis tools (experience with Unifier is beneficial).
  • Excellent communication skills for articulating financial information and complex cost issues clearly.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with various organizational levels, including clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with energy industry processes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Certification such as Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) or equivalent is preferred.
