Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the collection center, including the employee break room and donor waiting area.
  • Vacuum carpets, dust furniture, and remove trash.
  • Clean windows and doors daily.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and replacing ceiling tiles.
  • Monitor the grounds and parking lots, picking up litter as needed.
  • Assist with recycling and repackaging of shipping materials.
  • Clean restrooms throughout the day, replacing paper and soap supplies as needed.
  • Receive and move supplies from vendors and storage areas.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies.
  • Promote safety in all actions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three months experience as a custodian preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
  • Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
  • Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
  • Reach, bend, kneel, and have high level of manual dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
  • Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
