Radiologic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Monroe County Hospital. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic exams and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic radiographic exams using various imaging modalities, including x-ray and MRI.
- Evaluate radiographs for technical quality and make necessary adjustments.
- Apply principles of radiation protection and calculate exposure factors to ensure patient safety.
- Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures and provide patient care essential to radiographic procedures.
- Assume care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Administer contrast media and assist physicians with imaging procedures as needed.
- Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.
- Recognize patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiate life support measures.
- Ensure operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Maintain patient film and records as required by policies and procedures.
- Maintain competency in radiologic technology and professional relationships with medical staff, hospital staff, and patients.
- Associate's degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current, valid AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS).
- Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic procedures in accordance with policies and protocols in effect.
- Familiarity with technology related to practice in assigned functional sections.
