Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Monroe County Hospital. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic exams and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct diagnostic radiographic exams using various imaging modalities, including x-ray and MRI.
  2. Evaluate radiographs for technical quality and make necessary adjustments.
  3. Apply principles of radiation protection and calculate exposure factors to ensure patient safety.
  4. Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures and provide patient care essential to radiographic procedures.
  5. Assume care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures.
  6. Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions.
  7. Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  8. Administer contrast media and assist physicians with imaging procedures as needed.
  9. Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.
  10. Recognize patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiate life support measures.
  11. Ensure operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  12. Maintain patient film and records as required by policies and procedures.
  13. Maintain competency in radiologic technology and professional relationships with medical staff, hospital staff, and patients.
Requirements
  1. Associate's degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  2. Current, valid AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS).
  3. Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic procedures in accordance with policies and protocols in effect.
  4. Familiarity with technology related to practice in assigned functional sections.
