Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager, performs a wide range of duties to provide diagnostic Radiologic services to hospital patients, both in-patient and out-patient, in accordance with physicians' orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides diagnostic Radiologic services to hospital patients, both in-patient and out-patient, in accordance with physicians' orders.
  • Operates radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Transports patients from wheelchair or patient slide board to table, and moves portable x-ray machine to examination site.
  • Lifts 30-35 pounds with assistance using good mechanical body position, and wears protective lead aprons and lead gloves during examinations.
  • Performs tasks for a long period of time, i.e. special procedures, and demonstrates manual dexterity to operate radiographic equipment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an AHA-approved school of Radiologic technology.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health/Radiation Control Program.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Two years directly related student experience to become proficient in all duties performed.
