Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, performs a wide range of duties to provide diagnostic Radiologic services to hospital patients, both in-patient and out-patient, in accordance with physicians' orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides diagnostic Radiologic services to hospital patients, both in-patient and out-patient, in accordance with physicians' orders.
- Operates radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Transports patients from wheelchair or patient slide board to table, and moves portable x-ray machine to examination site.
- Lifts 30-35 pounds with assistance using good mechanical body position, and wears protective lead aprons and lead gloves during examinations.
- Performs tasks for a long period of time, i.e. special procedures, and demonstrates manual dexterity to operate radiographic equipment.
Requirements
- Graduation from an AHA-approved school of Radiologic technology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health/Radiation Control Program.
- CPR certification required.
- Two years directly related student experience to become proficient in all duties performed.
