Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated 5th Grade Math/Science Teacher to join our team at Duval Charter School at Flagler Center. As a key member of our educational community, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.

Responsibilities
  • Instruction/Education Responsibilities: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with our school's philosophy and goals. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to maximize student learning and cater to different learning styles.
  • Classroom Environment: Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation. Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized.
  • Instructional Planning: Plan and prepare lessons that meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans.
  • School/Community Relations: Foster strong relationships with parents, guardians, and the broader community. Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality regarding student records.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, or a related field. Valid teaching certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one to three years of successful teaching experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Student Information Systems.
Work Environment

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position are light, requiring occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds and frequent standing and walking.
