Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of facilities and grounds at Delaware Seashore State Park. The successful candidate will have experience in multiple trades fields, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, routine, and complex maintenance repairs on building structures, fixtures, and appurtenances, as well as heavy-duty structural and mechanical equipment.
  • Modify electrical service and maintain and repair electrical systems.
  • Restore and renovate facilities, bridges, and historical buildings, and design layouts to ensure efficient use of space.
  • Recommend referral of jobs beyond financial or capability limits to private contractors.
  • Maintain and repair compressor, pumps, hydraulic lifts, treatment and disposal plants, and operate and maintain HVAC systems, complex electrical, and plumbing projects.
  • Operate and maintain life safety devices, such as auxiliary generators, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting.
  • Oversee the work of skilled, semi-skilled maintenance, and laboring personnel in performing specific assignments or in a training situation.
  • Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on assignments.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Delaware Journeyperson or higher Electrician license or equivalent requirements as determined by the State Board of Electrical Examiners.
  • Six months experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields, such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC.
  • Six months experience in record keeping.
  • Knowledge of interpreting blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of estimating cost, time, and materials for projects.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
