Clinical Data Coordinator

Job Summary
The Medicare Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) Coordinator/PPS Coordinator is a critical role within MUSC Health & Medical University of SC, requiring a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to coordinate the process of providing accurate and timely data to the appropriate entities involved in the Prospective Payment System for Medicare patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of data collection on the IRF PAI, ensuring the presence of supporting documentation and providing staff education to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines.
- Coordinate all patient information to be submitted to CMS for Medicare reimbursement.
- Monitor patient charts for correct coding, electronically transmitting data in a timely manner and communicating with a multidisciplinary team to create and carry out patient treatment plans.
- Assist in the ongoing monitoring of identified outcome benchmarks for the inpatient population.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a School of Professional Nursing.
- At least one year of clinical experience as a staff nurse.
- Previous clerical training is preferred.
