Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory care to a diverse patient population, including neonates to geriatrics.
  • Cover various inpatient areas and floors, working under the guidance of a Lead Respiratory Therapist.
  • Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7.
  • Engage in team scheduling with 77 shifts, participating in weekend shifts every third weekend for days and every other weekend for nights.
  • Rotate holiday shifts with permanent staff.
  • Float to different areas throughout the hospital in the respiratory therapy capacity.
  • Engage in three 12-hour shifts of unit/departmentspecific orientation.
  • Enhance teamwork, flexibility, adaptability, and communication with healthcare providers and nursing staff.
  • Maintain a willingness to learn and a strong commitment to patient care.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Required certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • Experience with EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry.
  • Experience with Drager, Servo I, and Carefusion ventilators.
  • Experience with Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T BiPAPs.
  • Experience with Airvo2 highflow systems.

Work Environment:

This position is in an acute care setting with a Level 1 Trauma designation.
