We are currently in search of talented candidates for our Senior Equipment Technician role.
Key Responsibilities:
Core DutiesPRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Disassemble, install, refurbish, and repair engines, making necessary adjustments to various components within systems such as water pumps, fuel pumps, turbochargers, generators, compressors, coolers, carburetors, and cylinder heads.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations on engines to identify issues such as power loss, starting difficulties, misfires, overheating, and excessive oil consumption.
- Remove, install, and repair various powertrain components including torque converters, direct drive transmissions, clutches, brakes, and undercarriages.
- Perform diagnostic assessments on powertrain systems for overheating and operational pressure checks.
- Disassemble, install, refurbish, and adjust hydraulic controls and components including cylinders, pumps, and valves.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations on hydraulic systems for operational pressures and flow checks.
- Meet flat rate standards as established by industry benchmarks.
- Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is essential.
- Proficiency in computer skills is necessary.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days is required.
- Ownership of hand tools suitable for the tasks described is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Mobility: Ability to move about on foot, often on uneven surfaces.
- Manual Dexterity: Operate equipment and utilize hand and power tools.
- Handling: Ability to grasp and manipulate objects with hands.
- Lifting: Capable of raising or lowering equipment parts and tools.
- Reaching: Extend hands and arms in various directions.
- Stooping: Bend body downward and forward at the knees or waist.
- Standing: Maintain a standing position as required for job functions.
- Climbing: Enter and exit equipment as necessary.
- Vision: Ability to read work tickets and service manuals, and operate heavy machinery.
- Communication: Effectively communicate via radio, phone, and in person.
- Hearing: Ability to discern mechanical issues for safety in the workplace.
- Sitting: Sit in equipment and vehicles for extended periods.
- Laying: Ability to work in a prone position under vehicles and equipment.
- Lifting: Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. regularly, with frequent exertion.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Noise: Work in environments with consistent or intermittent noise.
- Temperature/Weather: Work both indoors and outdoors with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Exposure: Subject to unpleasant odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
