Insurance Defense Attorney Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, handling insurance defense litigation cases. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with a strong background in personal injury protection (PIP), premises liability, first/third-party claims, and litigation.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in civil litigation.
  • Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
  • Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
  • Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
  • Act as agent, trustee, guardian, or executor for businesses or individuals.
  • Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.
  • Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
  • Supervise legal assistants.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be an active member in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
  • Proven experience in personal injury protection (PIP), premises liability, first/third-party claims, and litigation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of maintaining professional demeanor in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal research platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to client service and demonstrated ability to manage and build client relationships.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Willingness to continue learning and improving lawyering skills.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
