Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ascension Providence in Waco, Texas. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients, working closely with physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.

Responsibilities
  • Take radiologic films to provide quality images to physicians for diagnosis.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging, selecting exposure factors accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity, monitoring protocols and recommending updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, preventing unnecessary radiation exposure to patients.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
