Job Summary

The Activities Aide plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our youth programs. Reporting to the Boys and Girls Club CEO, this position requires a strong ability to motivate and manage behavior problems in a safe and responsible environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a positive and engaging environment for students
  • Set up and clean up program spaces
  • Prepare materials and lead activities
  • Work with small groups and lead larger group activities
  • Ensure activities and environment are safe and report any potential hazards
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the social and academic experience of students
  • Model professional and ethical standards in interactions with students, parents, peers, and community members
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, peers, and community members
  • Participate in professional development meetings and trainings
  • Follow and enforce rules and expectations of student behavior
  • Participate in special programs and events
  • Provide daily transportation to and from program using PRCI vehicle
  • Assist with daily meal preparation, snacks, and hot meals

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • One year or more of experience working with children
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth development
  • Ability to organize and supervise youth members in a safe environment
  • Mandatory CPR, First Aid Certifications, and Food Handlers License (provided in training if not currently possessed)
  • Ability to use internet, scanning, word processing, software, and communication programs
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and extensive background check
