The Clinical Nursing Supervisor plays a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Director and President in overseeing the Medically Fragile Program. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including:
- Leadership and Oversight: Organizing and supervising staff to ensure high-quality client care, evaluating services, and maintaining client satisfaction. This includes monitoring daily staffing needs and orienting clinical personnel to their roles while providing guidance in clinical problem-solving.
- Staff Development: Assisting in the recruitment process, creating orientation plans for new hires, and offering timely feedback. Additionally, scheduling necessary training sessions and acting as a liaison with medical professionals.
- Policy Implementation: Enforcing and interpreting organizational policies, nursing standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Client Care Coordination: Supervising and coordinating care and counseling activities to ensure compliance with contracts and internal policies.
- Nursing Staff Management: Overseeing nursing personnel, including managing schedules, recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives.
- Referral Coordination: Managing incoming referrals and collaborating with referral agencies and treatment teams to facilitate admissions.
- Client Assessment: Conducting evaluations for clients being discharged from healthcare facilities.
- Medication Oversight: Ensuring proper administration of medications.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a healthcare environment, directly interacting with individuals.
- Proficient understanding of COMAR regulations and OSHA standards.
Education Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current nursing licensure in the State of Maryland is mandatory.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
Work Environment
- Physical activities may include walking, standing, sitting, lifting, and supporting clients.
- Exposure to potential health risks, including viruses and infections, is possible in the work setting.
- Flexibility to work at various facilities operated by Second Family, Inc. is expected.
