Job Summary

The Director of Emergency Services and Critical Care will oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and education for the Emergency Department and Critical Care (ICU/ACC). This role is responsible for providing accurate and appropriate patient care, customer satisfaction, service growth, and financial success of the services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain communication channels and participatory opportunities for staff.
  • Identify and improve faulty processes, encouraging change and innovation.
  • Recruit, hire, and help new employees to maximize potential and productivity.
  • Manage and direct the day-to-day bed capacity activities of the hospital.
  • Direct and assess the flow of patients from all access points through transfer, admission, and discharge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a Health Care related field required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia.
  • Certification in area of specialty required or within 1 year of hire.
  • Advanced administrative skills at the level generally acquired through at least seven (7) years in an acute care setting.
  • Critical Care & Emergency Department experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong fiscal skills.
