Job Overview

Position Summary: As a Metal Fabrication Specialist, you will engage in a diverse range of welding tasks, employing various techniques and equipment to work with stainless steel and aluminum alloys. Your expertise will contribute to the fabrication and repair of essential components and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of welding operations, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and tolerances.
  • Participate in new product development and experimental projects under engineering supervision.
  • Embrace lean manufacturing principles, including cell setup and value stream mapping, to enhance production efficiency.
  • Interpret and analyze product drawings, welding symbols, and quality standards.
  • Make necessary adjustments to processes to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Support and mentor colleagues in daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Perform comprehensive setup and maintenance to guarantee consistent quality; assist in preparing setups for fellow welders.
  • Continuously develop skills and knowledge to proficiently handle all assigned tasks and adapt to new challenges.
  • Maintain high performance standards while adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Document and track all work processes accurately, ensuring compliance with required paperwork.
  • Uphold exceptional welding quality, monitoring reject rates and nonconformance.
  • Keep the workspace and equipment organized, clean, and free from foreign objects.
  • Achieve and maintain all necessary qualifications and certifications for working with various metals.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of completed work, identifying defects and implementing corrective actions.
  • Actively engage in lean initiatives, offering suggestions for process improvements and applying lean tools effectively.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, maintaining a tidy and safe work environment.
  • Undertake additional related duties as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical hazards is common.
  • The work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
