Position Overview:
Navistar is on the lookout for a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Lead to become a vital member of our team at the Powertrain Manufacturing Facility.


The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Lead will play a crucial role in the planning, development, and execution of assembly equipment and processes to facilitate the introduction of a new powertrain platform.


Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering on assembly layouts, equipment procurement, qualification, and installation.

Represent Navistar within a global production team.

Serve as the production advocate in product development discussions.

Conduct research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly sequences, assembly techniques, and investment in production equipment.

Standardize manufacturing processes by benchmarking against other facilities.

Oversee pre-series builds and the production launch of new products, including setting objectives, training team members, and evaluating outcomes.

Contribute to achieving plant quality goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in product manufacturing.

OR

A Master's degree with at least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing.

OR

A minimum of 7 years of experience in product manufacturing.

Additional Qualifications:


Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.

Preferred Skills:
Expertise in electric torque-controlled fastening tools.

Experience with press equipment and processes.

Proven track record in launching new products.

Ability to integrate new products into existing production lines.

Experience in managing and monitoring project budgets.

Competence in developing and maintaining project timelines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Familiarity with CAD and 3D modeling tools, preferably Siemens NX.

Experience with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).

Ability to present solutions to quality challenges.

Experience with leak testing and robotic assembly systems.

Willingness to lead and mentor other professionals.

Openness to learning from colleagues.
