We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urban Infrastructure Manager to lead our Engineering Division at Shepherd Engineering Search. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing public works, land development, and construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing expert advice to city officials.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Develop and implement department goals, policies, and priorities, and direct city civil engineering, land surveying, and construction projects.
- Engineering Oversight: Supervise and review engineering plans and project specifications, coordinate project inspections, and draft ordinances.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Evaluate compliance with laws and regulations, recommend improvements, and ensure adherence to departmental policies.
- Contract Administration: Oversee contract modifications, negotiate changes, and compile data for technical reports.
- Communication and Representation: Present to city committees, commissions, and council, and represent the city in various meetings and handle emergency situations effectively.
- Staff Management: Train, supervise, and evaluate department staff, and establish systems for contract control and administration.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, including 2 years in management.
- Licenses and Certifications: CA Professional Civil Engineer license (or within 6 months) and a valid CA driver's license.
- Leadership and Organizational Skills: Strong leadership and organizational abilities, with experience in budget preparation and administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management and engineering principles, with knowledge of public works contract administration and land development regulations.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop policies and procedures for divisional operations.
