Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kentucky Medication Aide to join our team at our Cedarhurst of Owensboro community. As a Kentucky Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in promoting the delivery of resident care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct resident care services, including medicine distribution, and follow individualized plans of care.
  • Perform resident evaluations as required by state standards and facility policy, under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
  • Observe residents for changes in condition and report any changes immediately to the supervisor and/or Executive Director.
  • Provide timely interventions to address changes in condition and share information with care staff and family as instructed.
  • Assist in completing and maintaining current individualized care plans for each resident.
  • Provide interim documentation as required to resident files and attend all scheduled interdisciplinary resident care meetings.
  • Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, toileting, dressing, and transfers.
  • Participate in the oversight and management of medication delivery systems, including timely order entry, receipt, and tracking, as well as daily MAR documentation and narcotic counts.
  • Provide glucose monitoring and administration of insulin (for CMTs and insulin-certified CMAs/L1MA only).
  • Work collaboratively with others and take direction from management, while also taking initiative to ensure resident needs are met.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED and current state certification for Kentucky Medication Aide.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
  • At least one year of related work experience, preferably in senior care, and a general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding Assisted Living care.
  • Ability to meet all physical demands of the job, including seeing, speaking, touching, walking, standing, bending, reaching overhead, and lifting/moving up to 50lbs independently and up to 200lbs with assistance.
  • Self-motivated and accountable for results, with a strong sense of professionalism and a commitment to doing The Friend's Work.
