Key Responsibilities:
- The Materials Specialist plays a vital role within the procurement team, focusing on the acquisition and management of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies.
• Core duties include generating purchase orders, overseeing inventory levels, identifying cost-efficient suppliers, evaluating competitive bids, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Adjust stock levels to align with current production requirements.
• Conduct regular cycle count audits of the entire MRO inventory.
• Ensure all materials issued meet quality standards set by the client.
• Monitor and review MRO transactions to guarantee accurate billing to the appropriate accounts.
• Perform field inspections related to stocked items to confirm compliance with quality requirements.
• Utilize work order kitting processes in conjunction with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Engage actively in operational excellence initiatives.
• Participate in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities, completing safety-related tasks as required. - Qualifications and Skills:
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
• At least 4 years of experience in maintenance or manufacturing, with a background in electrical or mechanical systems, particularly with replacement parts for motors, pumps, hydraulics, and HVAC systems.
• Technical knowledge to identify and source OEM equivalent components.
• Proficient in using computers; capable of retrieving information and navigating systems using MS Office and Maximo (PM Module).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with maintenance teams, customers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Previous experience in issuing purchase orders through a procurement system.
• Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
• Ability to complete and uphold internal safety training requirements.
• Willingness to accept and implement constructive feedback to enhance personal performance.
• Dependable and capable of leading a team while working independently with minimal supervision.
• Open to receiving and acting on constructive suggestions from plant personnel in a timely manner.

Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $20 per hour
*Compensation will be determined based on various factors, including education, experience, location, specific job responsibilities, and certifications.
