Job Summary/Overview
This position involves the comprehensive assembly, installation, and testing of electric hoists, components, and their subassemblies according to technical drawings and other specified guidelines. The role may require flexibility in assignments across various classifications within the assembly department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble components by aligning and fastening them using bolts, screws, or rivets.
- Install and test moving parts, ensuring they operate smoothly.
- Assemble gear systems by aligning and meshing gears within gearboxes.
- Conduct tests or assist in testing the functionality of completed products.
- Work on sub-assemblies, including but not limited to transmissions, brakes, and panel plates.
Follow established assembly methods and procedures using blueprints, production illustrations, and verbal instructions. Team members are expected to rotate through various areas of the assembly classification regularly.
Additional Duties
- Transport parts from storage to the assembly area manually or with an overhead crane.
- Apply lubricant to moving parts and assemble components on the workbench according to specifications.
- Use tools such as micrometers and gauges to verify alignment and clearance of parts.
- Operate hydraulic presses for component assembly.
- Connect electrical wires to terminals in subassemblies.
- Perform load tests and quality checks on assembled hoists.

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to:
- Comprehend and follow simple instructions and correspondence.
- Effectively communicate information in small group settings.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and interpret data.
- Apply common sense to execute detailed instructions.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position include regular standing, walking, and using hands for assembly tasks. Candidates should be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds frequently and possess good vision for detailed work.
Work Environment
Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels in the work environment. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with one to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
