Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor provides leadership and support to the Respiratory Care Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services. This role is responsible for assisting with the orientation of new employees and affiliated students, as well as providing input for staff performance evaluations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily leadership and support to the Respiratory Care Department
  • Assist with the orientation of new employees and affiliated students
  • Provide input for staff performance evaluations
  • Coordinate shift staffing needs and make staff assignments based on acuity, skill level, and competencies
  • Update, revise, and develop policies and procedures for the Respiratory Care Department
  • Access staffing grids and/or Respiratory point system every four hours to ensure adequate staffing levels for current and oncoming shifts
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in General and Critical Respiratory Care
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the standards of care and practice related to the Respiratory Care Department
  • Must be able to perform duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Certifications/Licensures: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA)
