Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures, animal care, and data collection in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards. Your primary focus will be on supporting study supervisors and directors by performing and assisting with sample and data collection on research studies.

Main Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with technical procedures on study animals, including clinical observations, food consumption, body weight recording, urine collection, anesthesia administration, mating procedures, blood draws, dose administration, euthanasia, catheter placement, restraint, enrichment, feeding, and food removal
- Follow written and verbal instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, and daily schedules
- Record, enter, and review raw data, study, and facility-related information
- Set up procedures and maintain ancillaries for study animals
- Operate selected laboratory equipment, such as glucometers, Harvard pumps, and digital thermometers
- Monitor and report changes in animal behavior or health, and problems with animal rooms (e.g., caging, lights, temperature)
- Maintain general cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Review and provide input on the creation and revision of SOPs related to animals, technical procedures, and facility issues
- Perform husbandry duties

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; BA/BS in a scientific discipline preferred
- Experience working with animals in research or a regulated environment preferred
- ALAT certification preferred
- Intermediate computer experience, including Microsoft Office suite, Project, InfoPath, and Access
- English proficiency required to read and interpret industry-specific documents, write routine reports, and correspondence
- Basic math skills to interpret scientific data
- Solid reasoning abilities
- Ability to work cross-functionally on process improvements
- Demonstrated attention to detail while multi-tasking
- Maintaining organization in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Comfortable communicating with all levels of management and employees
