We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Repair Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing and repairing various types of heavy machinery, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service. The position may require both shop and field work, utilizing a company-provided vehicle for on-site repairs, which may occasionally involve overnight travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues based on customer feedback.
  • Utilize expertise in hydraulics and electrical systems for effective diagnosis.
  • Employ hand tools and specialized equipment for repairs.
  • Order necessary parts to facilitate repairs.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately.
  • Verify the functionality of repaired equipment.
  • Inspect for leaks and ensure fittings are secure.
  • Ensure compliance with specified tolerances and torque settings.
  • Conduct pressure tests and document results.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job challenges.
  • Assist in planning daily tasks and promote future work opportunities.
  • Engage directly with customers to provide updates and recommendations.
  • Suggest improvements to procedures or job functions for operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:
  • Current Federal Medical Examination Card is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with basic hydraulic principles and 12-volt electrical systems.
  • Ability to work with wiring and programming systems.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic fittings and hoses.
  • Proficient in operating cutting tools and plasma cutters.
  • Experience with oxygen/acetylene torches.
  • Ability to adjust pressures and relief settings.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Capability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience in mechanical design or practical hydraulics is preferred.
  • A technical college degree or equivalent on-the-job training is desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy equipment field service.

Health & Safety Standards:
  • Perform all job functions safely and in accordance with company policies.
  • Utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) during work.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in safety training and demonstrate competency.
  • Report safety concerns or unsafe practices to management.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT card is necessary.

Working Environment:
The role requires working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and noise. Employees may need to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and may be required to sit, climb, or kneel as necessary.
