Paraeducator Pool Assistant

Colusa County Office of Education is a public agency that operates a variety of programs for children, youth, and families, and supports county schools with academic, business, consulting, and vocational services. Our programs also provide educational services for students with special needs, adults, preschool children, and wards of the Juvenile Court system. Additionally, as the intermediate unit between the California State Department of Education and local school districts, we represent the districts on appropriate matters before State government.

We are recruiting for Paraeducators who can assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or groups of students in an assigned special education program; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; and perform a variety of clerical duties in support of the instructional program.

Salary: $21.98 - $32.87 per hour

Hours/Days: Hours/Day, 195 Days Per Year (183 Workdays + 12 Holidays)

Education & Experience:

• One year of experience working with children in an organized setting.
• Meet Title I Paraprofessional requirement: high school diploma or the equivalent, and two (2) years college coursework (48 units); or Associate's degree or higher; or pass local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction.

Licenses & Requirements:

• Basic First Aid and valid CPR certificate issued by an authorized agency (may satisfy this requirement post employment).
• The successful candidate will be required to provide DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance, TB test clearance, COVID 19 vaccination verification (or program-required equivalent), a valid California driver's license, and disclosure of CA-DMV Driver Record (INF-1125) following acceptance of job offer.
