Job Summary

Kemira is a global leader in sustainable chemistry for water-intensive industries. We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Production Operator to join our team in Baltimore, MD.

This role is responsible for the safe operation of the plant production lines, including loading railcars with product and offloading raw materials from railcars and truck tankers. The successful candidate will perform tasks designed to optimize process efficiency and output, while adhering to strict safety rules and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform lab analysis tasks and collect production samples
  • Ensure proper operation of all equipment in the plant
  • Monitor tank levels and process instrumentation; perform adjustments as required
  • Load finished goods into truck tankers or railcars as needed, with attention to quality of product being loaded and special instructions on individual orders
  • Ensure operations have zero environmental non-compliance
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles such as forklift, man-lift, and overhead crane
  • Connect/disconnect railroad cars
  • Available to work overtime as required, including stay-overs and call-ins
  • Available to work all shifts day/night
Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience working with little supervision
  • Experience with MS office applications including word, excel, power point and outlook
