Job Title: Signal Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Signal Engineer to join our World Class Rail Team in the New York Metro Region.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and implementation of train control systems, including Communication Based Train Control (CBTC), Positive Train Control (PTC), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO), Solid State Interlocking (SSI), Cab Signaling, Digital Tack Circuit Systems, and conventional block signaling systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review design plans and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate project designs with other disciplines, including attendance at project meetings.
  • Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate directly with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives as required.
  • Prepare construction estimates and engineering budgets.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 4 years' experience with designing Train Control Systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering license (NY).
  • 8 years of experience in the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of Train Control Systems and Equipment with an Engineering Firm, Transit Authority, or Signaling Equipment Manufacture.
  • Experience with train control systems for one or more of the following: commuter rail, subway, freight, light rail systems, and street car systems.
  • Experience managing/lead designer for signal projects from the conceptual design through to final commissioning.
