Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled School Nurse to join our team at Alief Independent School District. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with disabilities and health conditions
  • Administer medication to students according to board policy and district procedures
  • Conduct health assessments, screenings, and acuity assessments for students
  • Provide first aid, CPR, and AED as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure the health and well-being of students
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and stay up-to-date on current laws, trends, and best practices
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited professional nursing education program
  • Valid registered nurse license from the State of Texas Board of Nursing
  • Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in community health, ambulatory care, school health, or other related fields
Working Conditions

The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced school setting, interacting with students, teachers, and staff. The position requires frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, and lifting. The School Nurse must be able to work in a team environment and maintain confidentiality.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $62,995/BA, $63,495/MA, $63,995/PHD (based on previous experience). The position is a 190-day contract, and the salary is based on working 190 days. The salary schedule is pending school board approval.
