Histology Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a Histology Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine techniques on surgical, autopsy, and research tissue according to standardized procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Cut surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue using a rotary microtome.
- Embed surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue.
- Stain, coverslip, and label surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue.
- Perform special stains according to standardized procedures under supervision.
- Maintain all equipment and instruments.
- Completion of an Associate's Degree with coursework in Anatomy, Biology, and/or Chemistry, OR
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, clinical laboratory sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology, OR
- A high school diploma or GED with two years of relevant laboratory experience in a work, academic, or volunteer capacity.
HT(ASCP) certification preferred.
