Role Summary
As a Custodial Team Member at the YMCA, you will be an essential part of our custodial team, responsible for upholding the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. Your keen attention to detail will help create a welcoming and fresh environment for all who visit. Join us in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness that our community expects.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure cleanliness and safety by performing tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and more.Report maintenance needs and suggest solutions to management.Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks to prevent issues.Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning essentials in designated areas.Keep waste receptacles emptied and sanitized throughout the facility.Organize and store cleaning equipment appropriately.Work with the Safety Champion to establish effective cleaning protocols.Promote the YMCA's values and mission within the community.Serve as a role model, embodying the Y's mission, vision, and values.Share the Y's story with participants, members, staff, and guests.Complete other assigned tasks as necessary.QualificationsMust be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED.Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.Previous experience in custodial or maintenance roles is advantageous.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Excellent communication skills.Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity.Physical Requirements
