As a pivotal member of the Private Banking division at Citigroup Inc., the role of a High Net Worth (HNW) Private Banker is to cultivate and enhance client relationships, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each client's unique financial landscape. This understanding is crucial for devising personalized wealth management strategies that align with their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition and Business Growth
- Drive annual client revenue growth across core service areas including investment management, capital markets, and banking solutions.
- Develop and implement targeted sales and marketing initiatives aimed at attracting new clients from diverse sectors.
- Engage in proactive prospecting to generate leads and establish connections with potential clients.
- Assess, qualify, and convert prospects into valued Private Banking clients.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities with current clients.
- Coordinate with specialized resources to create tailored, long-term financial solutions for clients.
- Effectively communicate complex financial concepts and investment strategies to clients in an accessible manner.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary advocate and trusted advisor for clients, providing strategic financial guidance.
- Design and execute a comprehensive wealth management strategy to strengthen existing client relationships.
- Manage client expectations regarding service capabilities and execution.
- Ensure that financial strategies remain aligned with evolving client objectives.
- Clearly articulate the risks associated with various financial and investment strategies.
- Address and resolve all client inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.
- Support team members in gaining experience and building credibility with clients.
Regulatory Compliance and Oversight
- Adhere to all regulatory policies and procedures concerning client transactions and suitability.
- Oversee compliance with essential processes, including Investment Objective Setting and Client Risk Profiling.
- Ensure proper onboarding of clients, confirming that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated client-facing experience, ideally within the financial services sector, with a strong grasp of investment, banking, and credit products.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial industry and current market dynamics.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal, problem-solving, teamwork, and analytical abilities.
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with various teams, including sales, service, operations, compliance, and marketing.
- Competence in utilizing and learning computer and web-based applications.
Educational Background
- Licensing: Series 7 & 66 (or 63 & 65) required.
- A Bachelor's degree combined with relevant experience in financial services is essential.
