Clinical Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at East Jefferson General Hospital, a landmark of LCMC Health's incredible community of care. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering healthcare with heart.

• Conduct nutritional assessments and provide personalized nutrition counseling to patients undergoing heart transplants.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans to support patients' medical goals and ensure compliance with ADA requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to implement patient dietary health plans.
• Teach group education sessions and make presentations to community groups on nutrition-related topics.
• Review patient records, interview patients, and assess nutritional needs to formulate appropriate diets.
• Provide age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural needs of patients and their families.
• Develop, review, and update educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals.
• Write orders for diet, supplements, enteral/parenteral nutrition, and laboratory data per hospital policy.
• Plan meals for hospital patients with special dietary needs.
• Assess patients' nutritional needs, confer with doctors, and use computers to analyze nutritional intake.
• Teach people with special diets how to plan and prepare foods at home.

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or obtained within the orientation period.
• Licensed through the State of Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to communicate with patients, visitors, healthcare team members, and other employees.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
