Job Summary

As a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant at UT Health San Antonio, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our Pediatric Specialty Clinic.

Key Responsibilities

Perform basic ocular function tests and evaluate pupils to assist the Ophthalmologist in patient treatment and care.
Assist with minor surgical procedures, including room setup and preparation of instruments.
Maintain a clean, sterile, and operational environment for ophthalmic and surgical instruments.
Report missing or unserviceable equipment and ensure the appearance and stocking of supplies and forms in exam rooms.
Maintain related logs, such as spore testing logs and refrigerator logs, and track instruments.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Meet and maintain the minimum requirements for JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual Spanish preferred.
