As an Addiction Recovery Counselor at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, you will deliver exceptional direct and indirect care to individuals facing substance use challenges or other related conditions.


Compensation: $24/hr. to $30/hr.

Work Schedule:
Tuesday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate patients' levels of substance use and associated mental health concerns.
2. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create and execute individualized treatment plans.
3. Facilitate educational and therapeutic group sessions addressing substance use and dual diagnosis issues.
4. Maintain communication with referral sources and relevant parties regarding patient progress.
5. Oversee and coordinate patient discharge processes.
6. Engage in departmental and programmatic meetings to enhance service delivery.
7. Contribute to the development and sustainability of clinical programs.
8. Provide support to the Needs Assessment and Referral Department as needed.
9. Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Essential Skills:
- Proficient in delivering individual and group therapy.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Capable of comprehensive treatment planning and meticulous record-keeping.
- Effective public speaking skills with a commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain therapeutic relationships with patients at various emotional stages, demonstrating self-control in challenging situations.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- CADC, SUDCC Certification OR Current RADT, SUDRC.
- Preferred experience working with adults and adolescents facing substance use and co-occurring disorders.
