Job Description

**Position Overview**

Larson & McGowin, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced forestry professional to join our team as a Forest Management Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the forest management of client properties located in south Alabama.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct timber inventory and marking, and prepare and administer timber sales
  • Develop stand-level silvicultural prescriptions and contract forestry-related services
  • Participate in consulting and field projects across the U.S. Southeast, with occasional travel required

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or a related field
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in remote outdoor locations in various weather and forest conditions
  • Strong team player with excellent time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 0-5 years' experience in forestry field work
  • Field proficiency with various forest inventory and mensuration techniques and methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience with GIS software (i.e., ArcGIS)
  • Registered Forester or meet the necessary requirements to obtain this designation or equivalent within 2 years from date of hire
