Job Title: Forester

At Larson & McGowin, LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Forester to join our team. As a Forester, you will play a critical role in the forest management of client properties located in south Alabama.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct timber inventory and timber marking to ensure sustainable forest management practices.
  • Develop and implement stand-level silvicultural prescriptions to promote healthy forest ecosystems.
  • Contract forestry-related services and manage projects to ensure timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their forest management goals and objectives.
  • Participate in consulting and field projects across the U.S. Southeast, requiring occasional travel (approximately 20% of the time).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Registered Forester or ability to obtain designation within 2 years from date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 0-5 years of experience in forestry field work.
  • Field proficiency with various forest inventory/mensuration techniques and methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
