About the Role

PennState Health is seeking an exceptional Senior Anatomic Pathologist to join our dynamic team of academic surgical pathologists at Hershey Medical Center. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our subspecialty practice, which encompasses approximately 45,000 cases annually.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Anatomic Pathologist to fill this key role, collaborating with a talented team of 40 faculty members in Anatomic, Clinical, and Experimental Pathology. As a Senior Anatomic Pathologist, you will be responsible for practicing high-quality patient care, contributing to the department's clinical and translational research endeavors, and actively participating in undergraduate and graduate medical education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice as a consultant-level anatomic pathologist, providing expert diagnoses and interpretations in various subspecialties, including gastrointestinal/liver, breast, bone and soft tissue, and pediatric pathology.
  • Participate in the department's clinical and translational research initiatives, collaborating with faculty members and investigators to advance knowledge and understanding in the field of anatomic pathology.
  • Contribute to the department's educational programs, teaching residents, fellows, and medical students, and developing curriculum materials.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in the latest diagnostic techniques, technologies, and methods, ensuring seamless integration into clinical practice.
Requirements
  • Degree: MD/DO or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology; eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • Certification: Strong record of achievement in academic and professional pursuits; excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Estimated Salary: $250,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
