Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative and Corrective Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on standby generator systems, including diesel, electrical, and natural gas generators.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Analyze complex problems in equipment and machinery, interpret maintenance manuals, and use knowledge of systems and electronics to isolate and correct faults.
  • Emergency Repair Procedures: Troubleshoot and diagnose emergency repair procedures for AC/DC controls, gas, solar, steam, and diesel industrial engines.
  • Automatic Transfer Switches: Troubleshoot and repair automatic transfer switches, including bypass isolation and closed transition types.
  • Testing and Calibration: Perform testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting, and part component replacement services.
  • Optimization and Documentation: Optimize plant preventative maintenance programs to meet OEM recommendations, regulatory requirements, and corporate maintenance philosophy. Maintain logs, manuals, records, blueprints, and operating procedures in a neat and professional manner.
  • Load Bank Testing: Perform load bank testing on generator(s) to ensure units are in proper operating conditions and meet applicable code requirements.
  • Operations and Maintenance Support: Provide comprehensive operations and maintenance support for distributed generation projects, including managing solar and natural gas generation assets and energy storage resources.
  • Equipment Commissioning and Repair: Commission, service, and repair equipment throughout its useful life, including OEM warranty work and start-up service.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or technical certification preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the back-up generator industry or a transferable industry.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Solid knowledge of basic distribution protective relay testing, breaker function testing, and generator testing. Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics. Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of generators; advanced knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; familiarity with solar panels, moderate computer skills; basic knowledge of pertinent Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Environmental Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Certifications and Licenses: At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
