Join Our Team as a Veterinary Technician in Emergency and Critical Care

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team in the Emergency and Critical Care department at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Oklahoma City. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with our team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, utilizing anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including patient positioning.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Calculate medical math, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Mentor and train other coworkers, demonstrating patience and empathy when addressing client concerns.
