Job Title: Lead Anesthesia Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Anesthesia Technician to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical suites and providing exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

The Lead Anesthesia Technician will be responsible for coordinating and providing technical support to our anesthesia providers, assisting with patient care, and maintaining and ensuring the availability of supplies and equipment. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and provide technical support to anesthesia providers in the operating room
  • Assist with patient care and maintain and ensure the availability of supplies and equipment
  • Anticipate and respond to the needs of anesthesia providers during surgical procedures
  • Maintain and clean equipment, including TEE probes and anesthesia machines
  • Prepare and calibrate anesthesia machines prior to surgery
  • Stock anesthesia carts and order supplies as needed
  • Assist anesthesia providers during patient induction and intubation
Requirements:
  • Graduated from an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Maintenance of BLS Healthcare Provider Course completion status required
  • Successful completion of all orientation and departmental programs, and competencies with documentation required
  • Additional experience/training may be required based on departmental specific needs
