Job Overview

Turner & Townsend Heery is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee Federal construction projects with GSA. The successful candidate will have experience monitoring construction projects for Federal clients, with direct accountability for project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Review and analyze project status reports, contractor direct cost payment requisitions, and budget status to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and comment on subcontracts, bonds, and subcontractor default insurance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Review and analyze change orders, developer's monthly job cost reports, and construction and disbursement schedules to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
  • Prepare project status reports and recommend the release of construction funds to ensure timely project completion.
  • Review and analyze contract drawings and specifications to ensure completeness and compliance with architectural and engineering best practices.
  • Analyze and review the developer's direct and indirect cost budget, including cost estimate back-up and coordinate with the Cost Advisory group to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
  • Review and comment on construction and disbursement schedules, as well as other submitted documents, including zoning approvals, certified surveys, building permits and approvals, utility company approval letters, soil and foundation engineering reports, and designer's certification of code and ADA compliance.
  • Prepare Construction Risk Assessment Reports to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
  • 8 years of experience focused on federally funded construction projects, with significant GSA project experience of $100 million or more.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, with knowledge of MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.
  • Knowledge of the entitlement/permitting process and construction delivery methods and agreements.
  • Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types and systems.
Education and Experience
  • 8 years of project management experience, including a significant GSA project of $100 million or more, or multiple GSA projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum eight or more years' construction administration, architecture, engineering, or similar experience.
  • Licensure as either a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or a Certified Construction Manager is desired.
Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $120K-$155k per year. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
