The role encompasses various procedural obligations, such as collecting necessary data elements, verifying insurance coverage, obtaining service authorizations, and managing patient payments, including any outstanding balances, as well as reconciling cash at the end of each shift.
Patient Access / Pre-Access Coordinators are integral to achieving favorable financial outcomes for all patient services. They engage directly with patients and their families, healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and third-party payers. This position demands a professional demeanor, effective communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork and reliability.
