Randstad Engineering US is seeking an experienced Tooling Manager to lead our Die Shop team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality tools and dies, ensuring timely delivery, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise a team of 8-10 team members in the Die Shop, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training team members.
- Oversee all die shop accountabilities, including tooling readiness, quoting, and ordering.
- Develop and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Communicate with die vendors to track deliveries, die trials, and provide feedback on die corrections.
- Track and report On-Time die deliveries and first-time die trial success.
- Manage die cleaning processes, including safety, throughput, quality, and scheduling of necessary materials.
- Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- Lead team development through effective selection, orientation, training, and development processes.
- Develop capital justifications to improve quality, cost, and efficiency of die shop functions.
- Cross-train, learn, and support other functions or processes as required.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of Tool and Die experience.
- At least 3 years working as a Tool and Die Manager.
- Steel toe shoes required.
