Job Description

Job Summary:

The University of Missouri School of Medicine & MU Health Care seeks a highly qualified Palliative Care Physician to join its faculty. As a key member of the Palliative Care Program, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive inpatient and outpatient consultative services to improve the quality of life of patients with serious illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert palliative care services to patients with serious illnesses, including relief from symptoms and stress.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify patients who would benefit from advance care planning and hospice services.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for medical students, resident physicians, and other healthcare professionals on palliative care and end-of-life care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects related to palliative care and end-of-life care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of palliative care services.

Requirements:

  • Board certification in Palliative Medicine or a related field.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
