About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at American Water Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient treatment of water for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water treatment processes, well systems, and water distribution system operation and repair. You will be required to possess a current state water operator license or the ability to obtain a 2A, C, and D water certification within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities will include operating water treatment systems, maintaining and repairing equipment, collecting water samples, and preparing regulatory reports. You will also be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of our water treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate water treatment systems, including wells, chemical feed systems, and storage tanks
  • Maintain and repair equipment, including pumps, motors, and valves

Requirements
  • Current state water operator license or ability to obtain within 2 years
  • 3 years of experience in water treatment processes, well systems, and water distribution system operation and repair
